ECHOES OF SHANSHUI 漢墨雷聲

The San Diego Chinese Art & Cultural Society is a non-profit organization with over 30 years of experience promoting Chinese art and culture. Blending timeless traditions with fresh creativity, we curate dynamic programs and events that inspire all generations—fostering cultural exchange and building meaningful connections between East and West.

On June 8, 2024, we proudly presented a remarkable concert at the San Diego Museum of Art, introducing audiences to the ancient sound of the sanxian—a traditional three-stringed lute with over 3,000 years of history. The event was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, and Museum Executive Director and CEO Roxana Velásquez encouraged us to make it a lasting annual tradition.

Building on this success, we are curating a new cultural event for 2025 with the theme of Chinese landscape art. Multiple artists will collaborate to bring traditional shanshui (mountain-and-water) painting and philosophy to life through multimedia—transforming flat images into a dynamic experience that engages visual, auditory, and sensory perception.
 

None of this would be possible without the collective spirit of our community. From the dedication of board members and service of volunteers to the creativity of artists and the generosity of sponsors. It is this shared vision and commitment that helps Chinese culture grow and flourish in San Diego and beyond.

聖地牙哥中華文化藝術學會是一個成立超過三十年的非營利組織，長年致力於推廣中華藝術與文化。我們融合傳統底蘊與當代創意，舉辦各類型文化藝術活動，內容多元，涵蓋各個年齡層，積極促進文化交流，成為連結東西方的重要橋樑。
 

2024年6月8日，我們於聖地牙哥藝術博物館舉辦了一場別開生面的音樂會，將三千年前的三弦琴樂音帶給中西方觀眾，獲得廣大迴響。聖地牙哥藝術博物館館長 Roxana Velásquez 女士亦深受感動，並鼓勵我們每年持續舉辦這類文化交流盛會。
 

延續去年的感動與熱烈迴響，2025年我們以「中國山水」為主題，攜手多位藝術家共同創作與演出。透過多媒體跨界手法，從歷史脈絡出發，深入挖掘山水畫背後的哲思與美學意涵，將傳統山水從平面畫作轉化為融合視覺、聽覺與多重感官的嶄新體驗。誠摯邀請您走進這場穿越古今的藝術旅程，親身感受傳統與創新交織出的山水之境。
